Sätergläntan is a college for all those who want to practise traditional handicraft techniques and seek inspiration in folk culture.Sätergläntan will provide you with the knowledge, materials and tools required for pursuing your interest.
Sätergläntan engages skilful and experienced craftspeople, designers and artists, as well as other proficient people involved in creative activities, as teachers, lecturers and inspirers.
Sätergläntan creates free scope for the eye, the hand and the soul. To us the ecological way of thinking comes naturally, and this is even manifested in our cuisine and our accommodation. Our meals are prepared using basic ingredients comprising ecologically grown local produce, and they are served laid out in wooden bowls, earthenware vessels and baskets.
Here you will find inspiration for creativity, and the peace and quite you need to concentrate on your chosen handicraft.
The National Association of Swedish Handicraft Societies is the principal owner of the college. Sätergläntan plays an important role in the preservation and development of the Swedish handicraft traditions, from the artistic and the technical perspectives.
